We marvel at the size and the beauty of Canada, but how much do we really know about it's untouched scenery and wildlife.

There is much more to fishing and hunting than the actual catch or kill. When you ask kayak fishermen, what it is they like best about the sport, inevitably you get answers such as; 'It is peaceful and puts you in touch with nature', or, 'Kayak fishing provides me with an opportunity to get into remote and beautiul areas, otherwise inaccessible by other means'.

As more and more people venture into nature to fish, hunt and explore, for real adventure or to refresh & fulfill themselves, the need to be aware of the fragility of our natural resources, as well. Bobby Owens, Alberta Outdoors at Yakfish Canada.com
as the need to learn basic wilderness survival skills becomes more and more important.

Every province and territory in Canada offers its own unique flavour when it comes to nature and the great outdoors.

From the beauty of the Rocky Mountains in the west to the pristine maritime waters in the east, the outdoor experience offered in Canada lies at the heart of our identity.

'Alberta Outdoors' is the first of a number of 'featured sections' we will be adding to the YakfishCanada.com web site. Through this feature section, we will share with you through photography, articles, local folklore, true life stories and adventures, the wonders of this great country of ours, Canada.

We are very happy to introduce to you Bobby Owens, host, editor, photographer and writer of Alberta Outdoors at Yakfish Canada.com.

Bobby was born and raised on a farm in rural Saskatchewan. He moved to Alberta to attend college, where he graduated with diplomas in Wildlife Guiding & Outfitting and Adventure Tourism. Since graduating five years ago, he has actively been hunting, fishing, flyfishing, paddling, quadding and guiding throughout Alberta. And whether he is on the waterways, or in the backcountry, his camera is always in-hand. He has some great photos and I am sure stories to share, and we are very pleased to have him on the Yakfish Canada.com Team.
